Computational fluid mechanics

In this area, we work on numerical simulation applied to different problems of continuum mechanics, specifically in fluid mechanics and solid mechanics. The research is motivated by three engineering problems where numerical simulation is a fundamental tool: the modeling of fluids, the modeling of one-dimensional structures (both related with the generation of energy from eolian resources) and the bi-dimensional hydrodynamic modeling of rivers, estuaries and bays. As a general framework we use the paradigm of parallel execution in clusters Beowulf, implemented on the MPI protocol, to solve the differential equations related to these problems.
